Free online stopwatch with laps

Tickline's online stopwatch measures elapsed time to 1/100th of a second, supports unlimited laps, and runs entirely in your browser. Use it for workouts, cooking, presentations, board games or any task where you need to count up instead of down.

Stopwatch vs timer

A stopwatch counts up from zero and you stop it when the event ends. A timer counts down from a set duration and alerts you at zero. Use a stopwatch when the length is unknown — races, experiments, speech rehearsals — and a timer when you already know the duration.

How to use the online stopwatch

  1. Open the stopwatch.
  2. Press Start or the Space bar to begin counting.
  3. Press Lap or L to record a split without stopping.
  4. Press Stop to pause, or Reset to clear the time and laps.

Popular use cases

  • Sports: time running repeats, swim sets or rest intervals.
  • Cooking: measure how long a recipe step actually takes.
  • Speaking: check if a presentation or speech fits its slot.
  • Gaming: track speedrun splits or turn timers.
