Free online stopwatch with laps
Tickline's stopwatch reads to 1/100 second, supports unlimited laps and works completely offline in your browser. Press the Space bar to start or pause, and L to add a lap. Great for workouts, cooking, board games, timing speakers, or any quick measurement — no download required.
Stopwatch or timer?
Use the stopwatch when you don't know how long something will take and you want to measure it. Use a countdown timer when the length is fixed and you want to be told when it's over. If you're timing an unfamiliar task, run the stopwatch first, then set a countdown to that length next time.
Using laps
Press Lap (or the L key) to record a split without stopping the clock. Laps stay listed until you reset, so you can compare intervals afterwards — useful for running repeats, swim sets, drills, presentations and anything where the pattern between splits matters more than the total.
Keyboard shortcuts
Space starts and pauses, L records a lap, and R resets. Everything runs locally in the browser: nothing is uploaded, and the clock keeps its reading if you switch tabs.
Frequently asked questions
How accurate is the stopwatch?
It reads to 1/100th of a second and uses the browser's high-resolution clock so it stays accurate over long sessions.
Do laps get saved?
Laps live in your browser session only. Nothing is sent anywhere.
